Final
Studying from Life
Before creating a new species, I like to do studies of the animals I may be referencing to create a creature. It will help to make the final creature feel more believable.
Conceptualizing
After some studies I will go straight into some very rough concept thumbnails.
Building the Skeleton
After deciding the overall design for the creature, I feel it is important to break its anatomy down bit by bit. Starting with its skeleton. Using anatomy from real animals to help guide its structure.
Layering in Muscles
After skeletal construction comes The muscular construction. Also using reference from pre-existing animal anatomies.
